Lone Peak’s Leah Heimuli voted Week 5 player of the week

A late run over the final 48 hours of voting provided the margin of victory as Lone Peak tennis star Leah Heimuli overtook Whitney Turley from Davis to win the 2015-2016 Week 5 Preps Utah player of the week. This week delivered nearly 1,000 total votes as Heimuli claimed the honor for the week of Oct. 19.

Trailing in the voting for most of the week, Heimuli closed strong to finish with just under 50 percent, while Turley ended the voting period at 42 percent. Class 4A No. 1 singles champion Emilee Astle of Alta was third, while Livi Rockwood (Park City) and Sabrina Longson (Olympus) split the remaining tallies.
