Week 7 of voting in the 2015-2016 Preps Utah player of the week poll saw a heavy turnout, particularly late as Millard High’s double state champion Anna Camp came from behind to beat a pair of soccer state champions. There were just under 8,000 votes and by the time they were all tabulated, Camp had claimed the top spot for the week of Nov. 2.
Camp claimed more than 45 percent of the votes, with Skyline soccer’s Emma Heyn finished in second position at 36 percent. Mikayla Colohan of Davis soccer was third at 16 percent, while Kate Hunter, Provo cross country and Veronica Sullivan, Logan soccer split the remaining tally.
Camp won the 2A state cross country championship and then turned around to lead Millard to the 2A girls soccer state title. The senior scored 18 goals to lead her team in scoring for the season.
