Ogden’s Lindsay Yetter voted Preps Utah player of week

We didn’t see a lot of heavy voting during Week 30 of the player of the week program for the 2015-16 school sports, but those who did vote turned out for Ogden High track and field star Lindsay Yetter. The multi-event top performer was our winner for the week of April 25.

Yetter received the support of just over 40 percent out of a total of just over 200 votes, as Herriman’s Kaysha Love finished second at 23 percent. Jaslyn Gardner of Enterprise, Logan’s Maia Garren and Whitney Rich from Bingham split the remaining votes.

As of this week, Yetter is among the top five athletes in the state in four different track and field events – the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, long jump and javelin. She will be one of the athletes to watch as the state championships that are less than three weeks away.

Each week, we select five new candidates for consideration by the followers of prep sports in the state of Utah as the Preps Utah athlete of the week. Readers vote online on our website at and the winner is announced on Monday, when five new nominees are announced.

For the Week 31 Preps Utah player of the week poll we head back to the baseball diamond. Readers can vote for one of five ball players who are among the state’s top performers during as the state tournament draws near. Visit our website to vote for one of the following: Josh Brown (Northridge), Payton Freeman (Lone Peak), Josh Glenn (Juan Diego), Wil Jensen (Cottonwood) or Paxton Schultz (Orem).
