Beginning this week, PrepsUtah.com joins forces with Anython to announce this year’s coach of the week honorees. Each week during this school year, we select a boys team and a girls team coach who represents the best the state has to offer in coaching excellence.
Anython, a unique company helping teams and groups raise money to run their programs, is the sponsor of this award. The company will present to each weekly winner a certificate and a coach of the week water bottle and will provide the teams at the winners’ schools a special offer to utilize the fundraising services it provides.
Our Week 1 2017 girls team coach of the week is Krissa Reinbold of the Corner Canyon High girls soccer team. In just its third year of existence, Corner Canyon has rapidly become a force in Utah in many sports, and girls soccer is no different.
After breaking through to earn a playoff spot in 2016, the Chargers are well on their way back this year. This time, however, Reinbold has her team looking like a state champion contender in a tough Region 7 field.
Already, Corner Canyon took care of long-time 5A power Brighton, a team that stayed in 5A and joined Region 7 instead of being moved to the new 6A classification for this season. Then, with a 4-2 victory over defending state champion Timpview this week, the Chargers sent a message that they are one of the teams to watch in Class 5A.
Due to the accomplishments of her team so far this season, Krissa Reinbold of Corner Canyon girls soccer is the Week 1 selection as our girls team Anython Coach of the Week honor.
Nominate a deserving coach for one of our weekly honors by sending an email with the name, school and sport of the coach and the reason we should honor him or her to email@example.com.
