PrepsUtah.com has joined forces with Anython to announce this year’s coach of the week honorees. Each week during this school year, we select a boys team and a girls team coach who represents the best the state has to offer in coaching excellence.

Anython, a unique company helping teams and groups raise money to run their programs, is the sponsor of this award. The company will present to each weekly winner a certificate and a coach of the week water bottle and will provide the teams at the winners’ schools a special offer to utilize the fundraising services it provides.

Our Week 2 2017 girls team coach of the week is Kim Norman of the West High volleyball team. In her second year on campus, Norman has raised the Panther program to a high level by changing the culture and asking her players to excel both athletically and in the classroom.

Norman coached Highland to state championships in 1996 and 1997 after taking over a program that had won just two matches the year before she took over in 1992. Later, in 2004, she took over a 1-20 Westminster College team and delivered multiple conference championships.

The 2017 edition of West volleyball began the year 10-1 and sits as one of the favorites as Region 6 play begins. Norman has a team that will make things interesting as the Class 5A season progresses.

Due to the accomplishments of her team so far this season, Kim Norman of West High volleyball is the Week 2 selection as our girls team Anython Coach of the Week honor.

Nominate a deserving coach for one of our weekly honors by sending an email with the name, school and sport of the coach and the reason we should honor him or her to kurt@prepsutah.com.
