PrepsUtah.com has joined forces with Anython to announce this year’s coach of the week honorees. Each week during this school year, we select a boys team and a girls team coach who represents the best the state has to offer in coaching excellence.
Anython, a unique company helping teams and groups raise money to run their programs, is the sponsor of this award. The company will present to each weekly winner a certificate and a coach of the week water bottle and will provide the teams at the winners’ schools a special offer to utilize the fundraising services it provides.
Our Week 4 2017 boys team coach of the week is Jason Pollard of the Beaver High boys golf team. Coming off third-place finish in 2016, Pollard led his team to the 2017 Class 2A state title at Cedar Ridge.
Beaver rode the strength of three top four performances to a 26-stroke final margin over second-place Waterford. State medalist Davis Heslington shot a two-day total 148 (73-75) to set the pace, with his teammate Kayson Kreth finishing second, four shots off the pace at 152 (75-77). Braden Roberts was fourth and Chipper Willden finished seventh to round out a strong championship run for Beaver.
That state title makes him our honoree for the week of Sept. 25, 2017, the Week 4 selection for our boys team Anython Coach of the Week honor.
Nominate a deserving coach for one of our weekly honors by sending an email with the name, school and sport of the coach and the reason we should honor him or her to email@example.com.
