PrepsUtah.com has joined forces with Anython to announce this year’s coach of the week honorees. Each week during this school year, we select a boys team and a girls team coach who represents the best the state has to offer in coaching excellence.
Anython, a unique company helping teams and groups raise money to run their programs, is the sponsor of this award. The company will present to each weekly winner a certificate and a coach of the week water bottle and will provide the teams at the winners’ schools a special offer to utilize the fundraising services it provides.
Our Week 10 2017-2018 boys team coach of the week is Jason Lee of the Mountain Crest High football team. After taking care of Salem Hills 44-34 in the opening round of the Class 4A playoffs, Mountain Crest traveled south to St. George Friday night, where the Mustangs became the first team to win a postseason game on the road at Dixie with an 18-17 win Eli Wells hit a 21-yard fourth-quarter field goal and the Mustang defense got a huge stop as they hung on for the victory. Beau Robinson had a huge game and Jace Dart had 10 tackles and an interception, while Joshua Powell had nine tackles and Dylan Bostick picked up a pair of sacks to lead the Mountain Crest defensive effort. Nick Nethercott and Brady Hall led the way for the Mustang offense.
A major victory that that knocked the Flyers out of the playoffs and sends Mountain Crest to Rice-Eccles Stadium for the 3A semifinals makes Coach Wiscombe our Anython boys team Coach of the Week for the week of Nov. 6, 2017.
Nominate a deserving coach for one of our weekly honors by sending an email with the name, school and sport of the coach and the reason we should honor him or her to email@example.com.
