PrepsUtah.com has joined forces with Anython to announce this year’s coach of the week honorees. Each week during this school year, we select a boys team and a girls team coach who represents the best the state has to offer in coaching excellence.
Anython, a unique company helping teams and groups raise money to run their programs, is the sponsor of this award. The company will present to each weekly winner a certificate and a coach of the week water bottle and will provide the teams at the winners’ schools a special offer to utilize the fundraising services it provides.
Our Week 10 2017-2018 girls team coach of the week is Liz Wiscombe of the Morgan High volleyball team. For the 21st time in her storied career, and her 15th time as the head coach at Morgan, Wiscombe and her players are celebrating a state championship.
The Trojans swept Carbon, Delta and Richfield to reach the Class 3A title game, where they won in overwhelming fashion with another sweep, 25-11, 25-11, 25-21, over North Sanpete. Senior Marcie Jo Stapley led the way for Wiscombe’s Morgan squad, which won its third consecutive state championship.
Another dominant season for a coach who won six state titles at Delta between 1981 and 1988 before starting a run of 15 championships since moving to Morgan in 1989, nets Coach Wiscombe our honor for the week of Nov. 6, 2017, the Week 10 selection for our girls team Anython Coach of the Week.
Nominate a deserving coach for one of our weekly honors by sending an email with the name, school and sport of the coach and the reason we should honor him or her to email@example.com.
